We Create Our Reality

We have just come through the two most astrologically challenging months of the year.  Did you feel more emotional?  Experience upheavals in your relationships?  Face an external crisis?  Have a personal breakthrough?  You will be happy to hear the current energies are much less disruptive, giving you time to integrate whatever got stirred up for you in August and September.  There will be greater ease in moving your plans forward and emotions settle down.

It is natural to want to eliminate these trying months or our own difficult planetary cycles.  Everyone prefers ease.  But the paradox is that the more we cultivate the attitude of welcoming all the energies as important to our evolution, the more ease we will have.  It is our resistance and lack of faith that cuts us off from knowing that every moment is perfect, we are all connected and we have the ability in every moment to change our attitude and create anew.

In the New Age of Aquarius, we are learning to let go of victim-hood, the shadow side of the Age of Pisces.  We all know someone who is the epitome of a victim, constantly blaming other people or circumstances for their troubles, which are, of course, not their fault and too insurmountable for them to do anything about.  Or they blame themselves for their troubles but fail to rouse their will power to change their choices.  We all engage in victim-hood in obvious and subtle ways.  It’s easy to point a finger at a physically abused wife who won’t press charges against her husband and say that is unhealthy.  But it’s also unhealthy to not take a stand for ourselves in less dramatic ways.  I caught myself playing victim when it comes to voting.  “Oh, but it won’t make a difference, why bother?”  And when I failed to speak up for my needs in a relationship in order to avoid conflict.  We play victim whenever we give our power away and refuse to take responsibility for our choices.

The medical intuitive and spiritual teacher, Carolyn Myss, states that if we stay conscious and observe when we engage in victim-hood we can use can use these inner victim patterns as guardians of our self-esteem.

When you are in a situation in which you feel threatened or you suspect that you lack the appropriate social, professional or personal power, take notice of that reaction physically, emotionally and mentally.  That is the intuitive voice of your inner Victim.  To help direct your responses to all of your relationships, say “I am committed to my own empowerment.  What choice can I make here that will serve my own empowerment?”  Name the problem or threat you need to overcome and the power you need to process in order to do so.  Keep your eye on the truth that everything and everyone in your life is there to assist you in your spiritual maturation.

It is a metaphysical truth that we create our reality by our own beliefs, thoughts and emotions.  If we believe we are victims, we will attract experiences that victimize us until we change that pattern. This is true for all experiences:  if we believe in scarcity, we experience lack; if we think we always get abandoned, guess what?  We always get abandoned.  This earth school is perfectly designed!

Victimization is the negative side of the old Piscean Age.  We are clearly a nation of victims.  Everyone wants to sue and blame others.  The symbol for Pisces is two fishes connected but swimming in opposite directions.  The symbol of Aquarius is a human figure pouring water out of a vessel.  The Piscean Age was an age of being engulfed by water (emotions, the unconscious) and pulled in two directions.  But in the Aquarian Age we take command of the waters and learn to work consciously with our emotions and unconscious to create our reality.  We recognize that we have all the resources we need to create an abundantly joyous life.  No one can insert something in our lives that we do not already resonate with.  Like attracts like!

There is an abundance of material on the market now, teaching this information on how to use thought and emotion to raise your personal vibration and create your own heaven on earth.  I recently facilitated a nine-week support group based on the book “Your Heart’s Desire – Instructions for Creating the Life You Really Want” by the renowned psychic, Sonia Choquette.   Each of us in the group used the Universal Laws of creative manifestation to propel our desires forward.  It was very empowering to take the chapter by chapter weekly journey out of victim-hood to become creative manifestors.  For those of you in the Bay Area, I will be starting another group on October 29th – please refer to the Workshop link for more information.

Since starting my quest for more information on empowering myself and others to create a more satisfying life, I have been led to many resources (from ancient religious teachings to new age channeled material) that all concur that we have the power within us to create everything we desire.

And the instructions on how to do just that are now plentiful in this New Aquarian Age.  Teachers such as Wayne Dyer, Marianne Williamson, Carolyn Myss, Laura Day, Sonia Choquette, channeled material from Abraham and Seth… the list is too enormous to go on, all teach similar principles that awaken our God-given creative potential.  The Aquarian Age is quickly removing our excuses for staying stuck in victim-hood!

Update: President Bush and the Nation

President Bush and the United States  are going through a Saturn cycle. As reported in the Spring Newsletter, “Saturn transits bring heavy responsibilities, awareness of weaknesses, and the pressure to correct those weaknesses. Any weakness in President Bush’s character will come to the surface. If he takes responsibility and acts with integrity, he will come through this challenging period matured and strengthened. The same goes for our Nation. If, on the other hand, the response is to avoid facing the truth and placing blame elsewhere, there will be more serious consequences.”

As soon as Saturn entered the sign of Cancer in June, Bush’s approval rating began to drop and now his administration’s lies and deceptions are rapidly becoming public – right on schedule!  Unfortunately he is so far playing the innocent and not coming clean.  This is the same misstep that Nixon made under this cycle 29 years ago.  Buck-passing and lies will not be tolerated by Saturn.  In October and November, Saturn will make its first exact contact with Bush’s Sun.  It will be interesting to watch and see if history repeats itself.  Under Saturn cycles we all reap what we have sown – it cannot be avoided.  Both Bush and the nation will not be able to sweep past actions under the rug.  For the last year Bush’s Ascendant and first house planets enjoyed the benevolence and expansive energy of a Jupiter cycle.  But with Saturn, it’s reality check time.

When you learn the language of astrology, which is a symbolic language, it becomes easy to forecast trends and the changing tide.  The predictive side of astrology often amazes people.  But in truth, its real value is as a tool to live life more wisely.  We all have free choice.  When we use our will to make choices that empower ourselves and others to live with more integrity, our experiences under these testing cycles are very different.

The Months Ahead: October-December

October is wonderful month to move forward with new plans and make desired changes.  Our vision is clear and the planetary energies are supporting external actions.  Just avoid launching anything major during the Moon Void times.

October will be a fast-paced month as the planet Mercury moves full speed ahead, passing into three different signs.  When the Sun is in Libra it is the time of year to focus on Balance.  Even though the month will pass quickly, take stock of what needs balance in your life and make the required shifts, especially in regards to relationships.  Are there people who you need to draw stronger boundaries with?  Are you giving more than you are allowing yourself to receive?  Do you have enough support?  Are you engaged in interdependent or co-dependent relationships?  There is great potential this fall season to make your relationships blossom if you balance giving and receiving.

The Sun moves into Scorpio on October 23rd.  It’s time to dig deep.  The energy of Scorpio can help us transform our limiting patterns, face our fears, heal and regenerate ourselves.  It’s the season of Halloween, honoring the dark side.  What ghosts and goblins are ready to be released so that you can live more expansively when the Sun enters Sagittarius?

The planets begin to form grand trines at the end of October and into early November.  Several planets along with Chiron will be forming a Star of David pattern in the sky at the date of the Lunar Eclipse on November 8th.  Much is being made of this configuration in some circles.  Grand trine energy is energy that flows very easily.  There is no resistance.  This energy does not differentiate so it can accelerate the momentum of whatever is in motion – positive or negative.  For example at the time of 9-11, Mercury, the planet of communication, was in a Grand Trine on the Ascendant of NYC.  Instantly the whole world was viewing the shocking events as they unfolded.  It was astonishing how everything was captured and transmitted so effortlessly – that is Grand Trine energy.

We can use the energy of these Grand Trines to set things in motion in our lives and they can come to fruition very quickly.  Basically, the last week of October is an excellent time to accomplish.  Beginning after the new moon on October 25th, your projects can really fly.  The Grand Trines are tighter in November but it’s always better to plant seeds between the new and full moon. Full moons and lunar eclipses are not ideal energies for moving forward externally.

There is a moon wobble the month of November in effect from October 30th to December 3rd.  This is a chaotic cycle.  Moon wobbles often coincide with earth disruptions – major earthquakes, storms and volcanic eruptions.  It’s a purging time.  Individuals who habitually repress emotions can have more difficult time handling the energy because all that repressed energy erupts to the surface. It’s often during a Moon Wobble that headlines report shooting rampages.  There was an especially volatile Moon Wobble from July 29th through September 20th  which coincided with major hurricanes, a massive power blackout and a heat wave in Europe killing 19,000.  The November Moon Wobble is not nearly as chaotic.  You can move forward with plans in November but there may be unexpected twists and turns as you work towards your goals.

There is a Solar Eclipse in Sagittarius on November 23rd.  There are often more major geo-political events directly following an eclipse.  This eclipse is squared by Uranus bringing accelerated changes to whatever area in your birth chart this eclipse strikes.  If you were born in the early part of Sagittarius, Pisces, Gemini or Virgo you will be strongly impacted by this eclipse for the next one-year period.  The energy of the eclipse can assist you in breaking through limitations that keep you from living your life to the fullest.

We have another Mercury Retrograde period starting December 17th so don’t leave your holiday shopping to the last minute.  Remember, the Mercury Retrograde period which lasts until January 6, is not the time to sign contracts, make major purchases or launch new ventures.  It’s a great time to re-evaluate and introspect – review the past year and think about your New Year’s priorities.  It’s not the time to decide, just ruminate.  After January 6th, move forward.  The Mercury Retrograde can create more traffic and communication problems over the highly traveled holiday season so prepare accordingly.

In closing, I will leave you with this thought:

“Spend more time focused upon your dream than upon the reality. The reality gives birth to the dream -- but the dream is where you are wanting to put your attention.” – Esther Hicks

Or as Jimmy Stewart in the movie “Harvey” once put it, “I've wrestled with reality for 35 years, Doctor, and I'm happy to state I finally won out over it.”

I wish you all a soul-nourishing holiday season and the inspiration to dream big, unfettered by that collective hunch we call reality.

Many Blessings,
