Unequivocally! Your birthday is the start of your personal new year and Astrologers have found that the chart cast for the moment the Sun returns to the place of your birth is an amazingly predictive tool for the events of the coming year. That chart is based on where you are on the planet when the Sun Returns. So by changing your location, you change the position of the planets in your zodiacal chart and therefore alter your experience of the year. It's the difference between swimming with or against the cosmic currents.

There are many uses for Solar Returns Trips. Most clients use them to support their goals for the year. Some typical goals that Solar Returns have been used for are improved health, increased income, meeting a good mate, having a child, changing careers, a creative endeavor, or buying a house. So for example, if the client's main intention for the year is a career change, I find a Solar Return Location that is the most supportive for career. Some clients only take trips when they have a very risky Solar Return year (they commission me to look ahead a few years and see which years are too dangerous for their health and well-being to stay home on their birthday). These trips are "defensive" type Solar Returns designed to move the dangerous planetary energy into an area of the chart where it can cause the least amount of trouble. The best use of a Solar Return Trip is to move you in the direction of your soul's calling if you are not all ready firmly on that path. So if your soul's calling (this is revealed in your birth chart) is to have a family and you have not yet had a family, it would be best to travel to a location to support this unsatisfied calling.  (See Soul's Agenda.)

I will give you a 48- hour window in which you must remain in the location. This window will be within a day or two of your birthday. I will give you the exact date and time of your Solar Return and you will need to arrive in the location 24 hours prior to that time and stay in the location for 24 hours after that time.

Yes. The Gregorian Calendar is not accurately timed to the earth's rotation around the Sun. That is why there is a leap year every 4 years, to re-adjust the calendar. The date and time that I have provided is for the moment the Sun reaches the exact place it occupied in the zodiac when you were born.

I make every effort to find the best location in a safe local. If the best location for your year is in an area that is unsafe to travel, I will choose the next best location for your year.

Yes. When you commission a Solar Return, you can specify the parameters in which you can and can not travel. This of course limits the options for your year but I will design the best possible chart within the given parameters.

Ideally you should contact me at least 2 months prior to your birthday to allow plenty of time for me to do the analysis (my schedule is frequently booked solidly a month in advance). You also want to have plenty of time to make travel reservations and acquire any necessary visas.

There are four possible reasons for this:

1. This could indicate your birth time is not accurate.  In order for a Solar Return location to produce results, you need to have an accurate birth time. Even times on birth certificates can be faulty. In this case, the best thing to do is to have your chart "rectified". This requires an astrologer to plot out the major events of your life to ascertain the correct birth time from these past events.

2. You have not taken the steps necessary to activate the supportive energy in your chart. The Solar Return is not magic. It does not make things happen. The Solar Return is designed to support certain areas of your life but YOU must take the steps during the year to make the most of it. If you haven't put yourself out there to meet people by joining dating services etc., you have wasted the potential for your year. I offer discounted rates for follow-up sessions to my Solar Return Birthday Trip clients to keep them on track with their intentions for the year. If during the year, you feel you are not manifesting the potential of your Solar Return Birthday Location or want to check in with me on a matter that has arisen, schedule a follow-up session.

3. Sometimes it takes more than one Solar Return Birthday trip to manifest the desired outcome. If you have had much difficulty in your life manifesting a positive relationship, putting planetary energy in the relationship area of your chart through a Solar Return trip will make you very aware of any internal blocks you have to relationships and it may take more than one Solar Return year to move through the blocks and gain new awareness as to what to do to manifest the proper relationship. Just because you have not manifested the desire outcome does not mean the Solar Return is not working. The proper evaluation question is "am I becoming more aware of what I can do to remove the blocks to a positive relationship and am I more committed to taking the necessary steps?" A follow-up consultation can assist in moving you forward.

4. Finally, the Solar Return cannot be used to manifest something that is not a potential in your birth chart, or in other words, is not part of your destiny. The best use of Solar Returns is to support your soul's agenda not your ego's agenda. If it is not your soul's agenda to be famous, for example, no amount of Solar Return trips can make that happen. I do not encourage my clients to take Solar Return Trips designed to take them in a direction that is against their higher interests.
