The Soul's Agenda

Your Soul's Agenda

If I could talk to people about only one aspect of their birth chart, it would be their Soul's Agenda.  This one area is so vitally important because if your Soul's Agenda is not satisfied, your life does not sparkle with the magic of full beinghood.

What do I mean by the magic of full beinghood?  It is the state of being where you feel connected to a power deeper than your little self, where you know you are on the right path, where you can see divine assistance working to help you grow and evolve.  You feel alive, passionate and "in the zone".

In astrology, the North Lunar Node symbolizes the Soul's Agenda in the birth chart.  It's house placement, sign and aspects to other planets, reveals to a spiritually-oriented astrologer which aspect of life the individual needs to focus upon and what qualities need to be developed.

This does not mean that making the Soul's Agenda your priority is easy.  Quite the contrary.  Most people experience a sense of stage fright in this area of their lives.  That is because this area is unfamiliar territory, it is where the individual has little soul experience and this is precisely why it holds the most growth and evolution for the individual.

Many times when I tell clients their Soul's Agenda, their first reaction is either that they have no interest in doing it or they have no idea how to go about doing it.  "Of course," I respond, "we all gravitate toward what is familiar, what we all ready know how to do".  That's where the ego is comfortable.  What the Soul wants is a different matter.

Don't confuse "Soul's Agenda" with what we normally consider spiritual.  All aspects of life are spiritual and the birth chart reveals which one is most important for each particular person in this life.  For example, learning how to make money and be financially independent may be one person's Soul Agenda.  It is through being in the marketplace that their Soul experiences the most growth and evolution.  Normally we don’t think that pursuing money could be connected to the Soul's calling but if the North Lunar Node is in the second house of the birth chart, that is exactly what the individual needs to focus upon.  Interesting, isn't it?  More often than not, the clients I see with this Soul's Agenda are financially dependent upon someone else and are not "into" making money.  If they dedicate themselves to financial independence, however, their lives are enriched in so many unexpected ways.  As if by magic, the universe will come to that person's aid and actually bring people and circumstances into their lives to teach them how to make money.  But the commitment has to be made and the initial steps taken before the universal intelligence lends a hand.  If the individual gets discouraged with the first attempts and runs back to the safety of financial dependence, a message is sent to the cosmos that there is no real commitment to the Soul's Agenda.

The Soul's Agenda is an area where the learning is unending, where we are always a work in progress.  Our path of least resistance is the complementary side of our Soul's Agenda, represented by the South Lunar Node in astrology.  The South Node reveals what area of life comes naturally to you and where you all ready have a particular mastery.  If you focus on this area of life, instead of the Soul's Agenda, it becomes your Achilles' heel and ultimately your undoing.  Life stops working, you stop evolving and a divine discontent settles in.  Conversely, if you make the Soul's Agenda your priority, you are able to access the talents and abilities of the South Node to your benefit and the benefit of others.

If we return to the example of the North Node in the second house, meaning pursuing financial independence, this puts the South Node in the eighth house of financial dependence.  This individual is gifted at allowing others to take care of him.  He has a good understanding of the RECEIVING aspect of partnership.  If he continues to focus on the receiving end of partnerships, he will not grow and evolve.  It is time that he learns about creating individual financial independence thereby making his CONTRIBUTION to partnerships.  If he makes financial independence his priority, he will be able to utilize the assistance of others (his South Node natural talent) in the creation of his own earning power.

By working in cooperation with your own Soul's Agenda, you not only accelerate your own growth and evolution, you contribute to the evolution of the collective.  We all benefit from each individual's efforts to align with the Soul's Agenda.
